Who is SOBEK?
Named after the Egyptian crocodile god, it’s not only his name that has everyone talking. For the last few years Sobek has been crafting a unique sound within the realms of House and Techno. Whether it be deconstructing glossy polished originals with his unrivalled remixing talent, or days spent in the studio creating innovative and thought provoking original music across many sub genres, his sound simple has no boundaries.
With releases on credible imprints such as Monaberry, TAU, Moblack and Borders Of Light along with sought after remixes on Stil vor Talent, Get Physical, Needwant, Sobek has picked up support from some of the biggest names on the scene including Pete Tong, Adam Port, Black Coffee, Dixon, Solomun, Ame and Adana Twins.
With a growing reputation for being a renowned DJ and record collector, Sobek has graced the decks at some of the worlds best clubs including Heart Ibiza, Faust Paris, D-EDGE or Phonix Klein. He also runs his own party series in his home city of Budapest, which has welcomed the likes of Tunnelvisions. David Mayer, Toto Chiavetta, Marcus Worgull, Reznik alongside many other great artists to the Hungarian capital.

1. Funniest experience at Aether club:
-Last year we had Marcus Worgull at Sobekin series and the lights were not working. I didn't know him - lookin a serious guy - and was worried how this gonna turn out. He arrived and said; no probs, shut everything down and I play in total darkness. Mastervibes.
2. Who are you? What do you do?
-Hello, I'm Sobek. I make your face melting down when the e starts to hit hard.

4. Define the job of a dj:
-Connect and build the energy flow.
5. Funniest compliment you ever got:
-At AETHER I got cash as a tip several times in the morning. Funny or not, each time I had to take it at the end.
6. Whats your biggest inspiration?
-New music and new adventures.
7. How do you pick track names?
Really good question. Sometimes I reflect on the track closely, other times want to express something else through that part. Nowadays I'm checking the top 10 charts and try to give similar names. Maybe is a maybe,
8. 3 worlds to describe yourself:
-more German than a German (srry was 5)
9. Favorite BPM:
10. 3 most important skills of a producer?
-Willingness to learn and change. Ability to let it go.
11. Best advice for newcomers:
-Pay yourself in. Its much more easier.
12. What would you change in the industry?
-I wouldn't change anything. That's how it is, the rest is complaint kulture.
13. B2B of your dream?
-The basis for a good b2b is about chemistry and the ability to raise the vibe higher and higher. I'm quite picky on that topic and actually not dreaming about others.
14. If you would be a sound which would it be:
-The sound of silencio.
15. One secret tip for djs:
-Look up to the crowd sometimes. It's worth the effort.
